Strategic Shift the preprocessing unit for Sustainable Processing of green produce
We are excited to announce a strategic decision made by the Management Board of the Marginalized Organic Producers Association (MOPA). In response to environmental changes impacting the green pepper crop in the Uwa region, the board has decided to relocate the preprocessing center to the Central region.
Recognizing the challenges posed by the low green pepper crop yield in the Uwa region, the management board has taken proactive steps to ensure continued productivity and supply for the upcoming years. As a result, the preprocessing dryer will be shifted to the “Dolapihilla” Society in the Central region.
This relocation marks a significant step in adapting to environmental changes and ensuring the sustained processing of various spice crops, including nutmeg, cloves, and pepper. By entrusting the “Dolapihilla” Society with the responsibility of drying and preprocessing these valuable spice crops, we aim to streamline the supply chain and maintain our commitment to delivering high-quality organic Fairtrade products.
The collaboration with the “Dolapihilla” Society members is a strategic move that aligns with our long-term goals. It will enable us to directly supply preprocessed spice crops to Bio foods (Pvt) Ltd starting in the year 2024. This transition not only demonstrates our adaptability in the face of environmental challenges but also underscores our dedication to sustainable agricultural practices and ethical trade.
We are grateful for the continued support of our members, partners, and stakeholders as we embark on this new chapter. We are confident that this strategic shift will pave the way for enhanced sustainability and productivity in the years to come.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our vision and mission.
